Gun Hill is the second highest point of Mussoorie situated at an altitude of 2024 meters. The top of this hill offers a panoramic view of the Himalayan ranges and the hill station of Mussoorie, situated right next to the wide Doon valley. The hill was named because of the presence of guns on these hills in the pre-independence days. During the period during which the British invaded India, the colonists of the region were fed up with British rule. To fight them, the colonists brought the cannon to the top of the hill and opened fire on the British.
The hill was named because of the presence of guns on these hills in the pre-independence days. The main attraction of Gun Hill is the ropeway which provides a beautiful view of the Himalayan ranges.
