Maa Dat Kali Mandir is a famous temple for Hindus which is situated on Saharanpur Dehradun Highway Road. This temple is completely dedicated to Maa Kali who is believed to be a part of Goddess Sati, the consort of Lord Shiva. Maa Daat Kali Temple is also known as Manokamna Siddhapeeth and Kali Mandir. It is believed that Mata Daat Kali temple is one of the Sidhpeeth. Maa Daat Kali Mandir is one of the famous temples of Dehradun and is situated at a distance of 14 kms from Dehradun city. The Maa Daat Kali temple was built on June 13, 1804, when the Dehradun-Saharanpur highway was being constructed there. It is believed that Maa Kali came in the dream of an engineer, who gave the idol of Goddess Kali to Mahant Sukhbir Gusain to establish the temple. Which is still installed in the temple of the valley. It is called 'Daat Kali Mandir'. The specialty of Maa Daat Kali Temple is that a divine flame is burning here which has been burning continuously since 1921. Whenever people around here buy a new vehicle, they come to Maa Daat Kali temple for worship. This temple is situated on the banks of Dehradun-Saharanpur road, so whoever goes from here definitely takes the blessings of Maa Kali and offers oil, ghee, flour and other things in the temple. There is also a big hall in this temple where people can take rest. Devotees keep coming to this temple for darshan, but on the occasion of Navratri festival, a large number of people come here, sometimes even the highway has to be closed. Bhandara is also done here on the occasion of Navratri festival where people accept it as the blessings of Maa Kali.
