New Singapore "Taste Obsession" pop-up series in India

The fast-evolving Indian culinary landscape is being driven by the consumer demand for top-notch eating and nightlife, which is also influencing how they choose to travel abroad and what they encounter. For modern Indian travellers, Singapore offers one of the most interesting F&B scenes in the world because to its reputation as a food paradise and its UNESCO-recognized food culture.

Singapore's diplomatic missions in India and the Singapore Tourism Board have partnered with The Soul Company to open a series of exclusive restaurant pop-ups across India through 2023, featuring some of Singapore's most well-known F&B minds at the moment. This initiative reimagines how Indian consumers can indulge in Singapore's renownedly rich and diverse dining scene. 

The series, called Taste Obsession, will give viewers a taste of everything from the nation's Michelin-starred street cuisine to its boundary-pushing fine dining establishments through ticketed dinners hosted at well-known eateries throughout Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, and Chennai. These pop-ups will also honour the numerous, long-standing, and intercultural links that exist between the two countries.

Rempapa, a renowned eatery serving modern Peranakan cuisine, will launch the Taste Obsession series by presenting his famous takes on the distinctive Singaporean cuisine. Diners will be able to enjoy Head Chef Alan Chan's hallmark dishes, such as the well-known ayam pelencheng, lamb rendang, and singgang, in Bengaluru (Four Seasons Hotel, 30 November) and Mumbai (Magazine St Kitchen, 3 & 4 December). 

The series will also feature a number of well-known Singaporean dining hotspots, including the award-winning street food Hawker Chan Soy Sauce Chicken and the homestyle seafood restaurant Keng Eng Kee, which is a late-night favourite of well-known international chefs like Massimo Bottura, David Chang, and the late Anthony Bourdain.

For discerning drinkers, the series will also feature Singapore's top craft mixologists, including the team from 28 Hong Kong Street, one of the city-most state's renowned craft cocktail bars. These mixologists were instrumental in making Singapore the most well-represented nation on the World's 100 Best Bars 2022 list.
