Unsure of what to do with the winter break? Here's an option. For the annual Mussoorie Winterline Carnival 2022, visit the city in the final week of December. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event is making a triumphant comeback after an absence of nearly two years.
Mussoorie will be prepared to receive people from all around the nation and the world to witness the winterline phenomena by December last week. You should not miss the carnival because it will be a stunning fusion of nature, culture, and cuisine.
Among the many activities planned for the carnival are heritage walks, stargazing, nature hikes, performances by local and folk artists, paragliding, bungee jumping, skating, traditional food, clothing, and craft booths, and puppet shows. In addition, campfires will be organised across Mussoorie as part of the carnival.
The carnival is always organised around December of the previous year to fit in with the holiday celebrations. The Mussoorie Winterline Carnival is scheduled to take place this year from December 25 to December 30. (subject to change). While specific locations in Mussoorie will soon be revealed, it is safe to predict that Mussoorie's Mall Road will play a significant role in this celebration.
Winterline phenomenon is the formation of a false horizon at dusk as a result of light refraction. Only select mountainous places can see this phenomenon. There are only a few places in Switzerland and the Himalayan regions where this phenomenon can be observed. The most noticeable winterline occurs in Mussoorie and Mizoram, both in India.
