Lambi Dehar mine

The Lambi Dehar mine is a few km from the hill town of Mussoorie in Uttarakhand and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Mussoorie. Also known as the "Mine of Death", it is locally believed that the mines are cursed by a witch. The area in and around the mine is surrounded by lush greenery and surreal landscapes, but there is an eerie and scary silence in all. The mine was in operation until the early 1990s, after which it was closed due to the deaths of about 50,000 people working here.
