Meta-owned platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and Threads, are currently encountering technical difficulties, resulting in accessibility issues for many users on Tuesday. The outage has affected various functionalities across these social media platforms.
Numerous users have reported encountering login problems and difficulties refreshing their feeds. Facebook users are finding themselves unexpectedly logged out of their accounts, making it challenging to log back in. Similarly, Instagram users are experiencing issues with feed refreshing, leading to difficulties loading stories and comments for some individuals. Threads, an app developed by Meta, is also affected by the outage, displaying an error message upon launch.
The volume of reports on Down Detector, a website that monitors internet service outages, has rapidly increased for all three platforms since the issue began. Despite the widespread user complaints, Meta has not yet officially acknowledged the problem.
However, Meta spokesperson Andy Stone addressed the widespread issues through a tweet. Stone acknowledged the problem, stating, "We're aware people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on this now."
The tweet comes in response to numerous reports from users encountering difficulties in accessing Meta-owned platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Threads. The disruption has left many users unable to log in or refresh their feeds, prompting frustration and concern among the user base.
