Countdown Begins for Char Dham Yatra, Dates for Temple Opening Announced, Government Engages in Preparation

Good news for pilgrims coming on the Char Dham Yatra. Soon the Char Dham Yatra is going to start. The date for the opening of the gates of Badrinath Dham has been fixed for February 14 (Basant Panchami). The gates of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham are opened on the day of Akshaya Tritiya. 

 

In this regard, the Uttarakhand government has also geared up for the preparations of the Char Dham Yatra. The state government's aim is to break the historical record set by pilgrims in the year 2023 in the year 2024. For this, the government has intensified its efforts.

 

The date for the opening of the gates of Kedarnath will be announced on March 8: The date for the opening of the gates of Badrinath Dham has been announced. This year, the gates of Badrinath will open on May 12. The gates of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham will be opened on the day of Akshaya Tritiya. 

 

The date for the opening of the gates of Baba Kedarnath will be decided on March 8 on the day of Shivaratri after the calculation of the Panchang in Omkareshwar Temple, Ukhimath. Upon seeing this, the Uttarakhand government has already started rectifying the arrangements. The process of Lok Sabha elections will be underway during the opening of the gates of the Char Dham Yatra. In this situation, completing the arrangements will be a big challenge for the government. That's why the government has already started preparations.

 

Increase in the number of pilgrims since 2019: The number of pilgrims coming for the Uttarakhand Char Dham Yatra has been increasing since 2019. After the disaster in Kedarnath Valley in 2013, the number of pilgrims decreased significantly. Then in the year 2019, during the Char Dham Yatra, the number of pilgrims broke all records and set a new milestone. 

 

During 2020 and 2021, the Char Dham Yatra was affected due to the COVID pandemic, but then from 2022, the Char Dham Yatra gained momentum again. After that, every year, the number of pilgrims has been setting new historical records. In this situation, there is also a possibility of setting new historical records during the upcoming Char Dham Yatra.

 

The economy gets a boost from the Char Dham Yatra: Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj said that the Tourism Department monitors arrangements continuously during the Yatra. This is the reason why a large number of pilgrims came in 2023. He said that the arrival of record-breaking tourists is a matter of great fortune for Uttarakhand. He said that the Char Dham Yatra boosts the economy of the state.

 

CM Dhami said the number of pilgrims will increase in 2024: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the Char Dham Yatra is a priority for the government. The experience gained during the Char Dham Yatra in 2022 has been improved upon in the Char Dham Yatra of 2023. As a result, a large number of pilgrims arrived in 2023 for the Char Dham Yatra. In this situation, it is estimated that the number of pilgrims will increase every year, based on which infrastructure facilities are being developed so that more and more convenience and facilities can be provided to the pilgrims coming for the Char Dham Yatra.
